Under Ruvin de Silva’s direction, these tailor-made workshops were designed specifically for the participating children, keeping in mind their ages and social context. Our aim is to guide all workshop participants in devising and staging their own performance at the end of the workshops.
Mind Adventures worked with the boys at The Boys Development Centre an orphanage/ halfway home situated in Maharagama. Over a period of 10 weeks, we guided them through art, craft, music and theatre workshops, helping them to develop their interests and hobbies as well as engage their creativity in all those areas. The result is an incredible collection of original work, including two original plays, art and craftwork and musical items created entirely from scratch by the boys themselves! The programme culminated in an all day festival.
